Description

The Department of Medicine is seeking a motivated Fund Manager to oversee fiscal and programmatic needs under the guidance of the Senior Program Administrator. Your role will involve preparing and submitting grants and funding requests, managing budgets, financial reports, and re-budgeting requests for the University, National Programs, and partner agencies. You will also coordinate program ordering, purchasing, travel arrangements, and research subject incentives. As a liaison between our department and financial offices, you will interpret policies and resolve financial issues. Monitoring budgets and expenditures, including a $4M annual operating budget with $2M in grant funding, will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. Collaborating with the Program Administrator, you will analyze expenditures and address anticipated financial issues proactively. In addition, you will provide budget training to scholars and assist with written communications to the National Program Office and partner agencies. You will also work closely with the Program Administrator on Scholars IRB protocols, ensuring compliance and a streamlined approval process. Your role will extend to liaising with the School of Public Health and Graduate Student Division to facilitate timely stipend payments and support MSHS application and graduation processes. Additionally, you will provide valuable assistance on special projects and oversee office clerical support staff. Target hourly rate: $22.03-$43.68

Qualifications

Required: * Knowledge of microcomputer systems and local area networks to enter and manipulate data on various computerized financial programs and downloads * Demonstrated experience in interpretation and hands-on application of accounting, budgetary, and auditing principles and practices in a University or non-profit environment. * Working knowledge of University financial ledgers and payroll and accounting systems. * Ability to initiate and implement novel solutions to various financial problems. * Mathematical skills and experience sufficient to monitor expenses, analyze costs, and prepare budget projections on monthly financial statements using spreadsheet program. * Demonstrated skill in analyzing expenditures in order to identify any discrepancies or potential problems that are in conflict with agency and internal guidelines. * Experience with contract and grant proposal preparation and submission * Working knowledge of University grant restrictions and requirements. * General knowledge of University purchasing, travel, and procurement policies and procedures.. * Ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities in order to meet varying demands and competing deadlines from a variety of individuals, and work with frequent interruptions. * Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of faculty, physicians, staff, fellows, and the public in a cooperative manner. * Ability to function as part of a team and as an accounting liaison in a large, complex, and growing unit. Preferred: * Previous supervisory experience, including ability to train, review, discipline, and evaluate.
