The University of Southern California Maternal Child Adolescent (MCA) Center, Pediatrics Infectious Diseases, a division of the Keck School of Medicine of USC, is seeking to fill a Community Outreach Coordinator position. The incumbent will serve as the liaison between community health care providers and the MCA Clinic, to promote our HIV clinic services for pregnant women, children, and adults. The Community Outreach Coordinator will educate providers and community clinics the referral process, the specialized care and expertise MCA provides to patients e.g HIV care during pregnancy, HIV and STI prevention, testing, and care for all ages.

  • The incumbent must have exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills to build relationships and trust with community providers and patients.
  • Responsible for developing informational material handouts, promotions, and campaigns, as well as present to health care providers and clinics, MCA services
  • Attend meetings that deal with HIV related issues and topics, as well as taking part in community events to share the different medical and ancillary services MCA clinic can offer to its community.

Important qualifications include excellent communication and people skills. Ability to organize presentations and schedule visits with providers and clinics. Demonstrated ability to work independently while working multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Must be a self-starter, able to think critically, and effectively problem solve. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Preferred experience:

2+ years of experience working in outreach, and HIV or infectious diseases Knowledge of community resources; demonstrated ability to network and build strong relationships with community organizations serving priority populations. Bilingual Spanish

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

Minimum Experience: 1 year experience in outreach. Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle, for field work to clinics and sites for presentations and outreach work. Mileage will be reimbursed at federal mileage reimbursement rate.

Field of Expertise: Administrative or research experience. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

The hourly rate range for this position is $27.44 - $27.44.
