Summary:

Hitachi’s R&D Center located in Santa Clara, CA is a leading technology provider to support Hitachi’s global Social Innovation business. We focus on bringing transformative changes across multiple industry segments leveraging emerging technologies including 5G, IoT/AI, and Robotics. Being a customer facing R&D center, our researchers get firsthand exposure to real-life problems leading to more focused approach to research and technology innovation. We also work closely with Hitachi product and business divisions to contribute to Hitachi’s IoT business across multiple industry segments with special focus on optimized manufacturing, fleet management, healthcare, and IIoT.

We are looking for an Emerging Technology, Research Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our R&D and business teams to support Industry 4.0 initiatives across multiple industry verticals including mobility, manufacturing, utilities, and healthcare. In this role, you will research publicly available information and help identify gaps and opportunities in Industry 4.0 space. Additionally, you will also work with our marketing team to promote Hitachi R&D offerings. This position is a perfect match for an individual who is passionate about empowering society through the tremendous potential of 5G, Industrial IoT and ML/AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct industry research and communicate results to the internal teams.
  • Support program management activities including communication with key stakeholders, project planning and coordination.
  • Assist and improve project documentation and collaboration across multiple teams.
  • Support in creating presentations and demonstrations for key stakeholders.
  • International and domestic travel is required up to 20% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with sufficient experience or knowledge across multiple industry segments, including awareness of social, economic, and environmental impacts is required.
  • Strong desire to gain further understanding of the emerging technologies and their impact on our society.
  • Strong analytical, research, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $90 - 95 K. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
