As a Driverless Roadside Assistance Specialist you will be responsible for inspecting, setting up and monitoring Driverless Vehicles as they perform their assigned mission in the field. You will also operate a non-autonomous vehicle and/or monitor the location of a driverless vehicle(s) and aid in their recovery as needed. Occasionally, you will be expected to assist passengers of the driverless vehicle to disembark, board the non-autonomous vehicle and safely drive passengers to their destination.

Responsibilities
- Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle;
- Work mostly individually but also in small groups of 2-10 people;
- Monitor multiple software systems with constant focus;
- Provide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding the vehicle’s operations;
- Operate onboard data recording computers;
- Responsible for safely setting up driverless vehicles.
- Safely operates a non-autonomous vehicle while monitoring the location of a driverless vehicle(s).
- Responsible for the safe recovery of the autonomous vehicle which includes but is not limited to parking safely behind the driverless vehicle, setting up protection, disengaging the vehicle and driving the it to a safe location.
- Apply safety procedures to any situation involving rescue of the self-driving vehicle.
- Exercise excellent customer service while assisting passengers of the driverless vehicle to disembark, board the rescue vehicle and safely drive passengers to their destination.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads
- High School Diploma or GED required
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Hangouts, and Driver, including Sheets andDocs)
- Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred by not required)
- Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts;
- Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios;
- Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation;
- Must be able to perform the majority of your shift from a compact crossover vehicle; periodically exposed to the elements and outdoors
- Must be able to multitask multiple technologies, including communications devices and vehicle status systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments.
- Ability to take lunch and breaks while in field throughout the operational map area
- Travel up to 10% of the time
Physical Requirements:
- Operate/Drive in single and/or dual driving mode for 6-8 hours a day alone or with a co-driver, five days a week; able to sit still for long periods of time;
- Long periods of sitting, walking and standing
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Most work is accomplished outdoors in a vehicle
